Hurricane Melissa, one of the most powerful storms on record, devastated Jamaica,
eastern Cuba, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic in 2025. With winds reaching nearly
300 km/h, widespread destruction, severe flooding, and landslides resulted in the loss of
lives, displacement of thousands, and the destruction of homes and critical
infrastructure. Over 25,000 people in Jamaica alone were evacuated into shelters,
facing a long road to recovery.

The African American Leadership Network (AALN) is committed to empowering Black
communities both locally and globally. In response to this crisis, we are launching a
fundraiser to provide emergency aid, shelter, medical supplies, and long-term rebuilding
support to those affected by Hurricane Melissa..

Climate change is one of the biggest threats to our planet. At (AALN) , we are committed to reducing tragedies such as carbon footprints and promoting sustainable practices to mitigate the effects of climate change. Also helping disadvantaged communities have strong footprint into their own environments
